Ferry to Belfast

Looking for some wisdom on where I can get a good deal on ferry from Scotland to Belfast in August. Have looked on Stena and P&O websites and am Shock at the ££££'s for a 2 hour crossing. We need to take the camper van as that's our accommodation.

We were looking at ferries from Belfast to Scotland and have now decided it's too expensive.

The price is ludicrous isn't it? You'd probably be cheaper to fly, hire a car and rent a wee cottage for a week!

I do this journey four times a year- there are no cheap deals unfortunately. I think you can use Tesco points on stena though. There is no competition so they charge ridiculous amounts.

Thanks for replying (sorry fell asleep after)

Rubbish, as I thought there's no where to get a better deal. DH gets a bit of a discount through his work so at least that's a little help.

Probably easyjet, car hire and accommodation would work out about the same and at least we'll have all our stuff ( bikes etc) with us. Least DS will get another first experience of going on the big boat!
