Can anyone suggest a nice but not too expensive hotel or house to book for a bunch of women to celebrate a friends 40th.

How about a couple of the rooms at the Blue Bicycle in York?

Link here

DH and I have stayed here a couple of times. Free gin and a fridge full of beer/soft drinks. They also provide bread, milk and either a continental breakfast or a full English you cook yourself whenever you surface! The Blue Bicycle restaurant is excellent too :)

Sorry to been back. We're probably looking at spending around £200 each (not sure if that realistic or not), were in London, house, hotel not too bothered but something really nice. Probably not very helpful!!!

We have a house which we let out in the Cotswolds which is used by groups of friends for celebrations - it is perfect for a weekend away as there is a Spa on the private estate where the house is. Have a look at www.cotswoldfamilyholidays.com

try websites like the hen house, bigholidayhouse.com and groupaccommodation.com this will give you an idea of what is out there and the price. alternatively for our girlie weekend we stayed in a cheap travel inn in Bath walking distance to everything and the money we saved was spent on a lovely spa at bath spa (roof top open air boiling pool and treatments too) plus afternoon tea at the pump house. would prefer to spend more on the going out and less on the accom. personally.
