We're possibly moving to near Newquay soon. I definitely don't want to live there so where do you recommend nearby? It needs to be half an hour or less drive and preferably by the sea. I'm not keen on perranporth although like the beach, st Agnes is lovely but not sure what it has for toddlers, wadebridge I liked but have only visited once and padstow I like (although not keen on the crazy business in the summer).
Anyway, anyone know any other villages nearby I may like? My main criteria are nearish sea, 30 mins from Newquay, toddler group/lovely mums and not chavtastic (snob?!).
Does anyone know what St Column major is like? It's very near the airport? Anyone from there who can tell me how noisy it is?
Thank you!

we relocated from a town to the countryside and regardless of where it is in the UK i would definately recommend lots of visits/stays in b and b's and also renting rather than buying first. cornwall has lots of issues at the moment - dualling of the A30 that might mean disruption or depending on where you live more noise, issues around tourists - padstow in school hols yuk, wind farms, (especially around newquay/truro) solar farms etc. all will have an impact. would suggest you visit, rent then decide. We prefer SE Cornwall for hols but Newquay is 45 mins away (perhaps thats why i prefer it for my hols)
