North West England

Come from Scotland, live in London, so often do halfway point drop offs of DS with his grandparents in the North West of England somewhere. Usually make a little trip of it but have stayed in Blackpool, Lancaster, Morecambe, the Lake District and Preston.

Does anyone have any ideas where we could stay and do the drop off at Easter?

Clitheroe, 1/2 hour from Preston. There's castle ruins, river and plenty of yummy cafes.

Chester, great zoo, lots of nice hotels, roman warriors marching the streets (well on festival days), real roman walls to walk along, horse racing family days. Oh and river trips too!

We stayed in Leeds once on a similar trip and went to Royal Armouries which was an amazing place, so much more interesting and diverse than we expected. And free!

Manchester or Liverpool?

What type of thing are you wanting from the trip?
