London with kids

I am lookinf for a 3 night break to london to see allthe usual sights - eye, tower, big ben , palace etc... so would like to be somewhere central so we dont have to travel a lot on the tube and also somewhere affordable - im thinking premier in or a serviced apartment if i could get one for the same price as a premier inn. Now its 16 yrs since i last went to london so where should i stay premier inn wise? I dont want to get murdered in my bed or have the kids stolen - usual parental worries.... Please help. Its going to cost in region of £300 for train so i nee to get this right. . Also who best to book train through and when if say booking for feb half term?

Train tickets released three months before, buy early, reduction for four or more tickets purchased together and reduction if you have a family rail card. Where are you travelling from? Ive just got back (yesterday); and we paid £35retutn each for four adults (and no.railcards) from.Newcastle.

We stayed at a Marriott, but there are tons of Premier Inns and Holiday INns amd Travellodges around too. Id stay near Covent Garden/ Leicester Squarr to be in the thick.of it.

I buy my tickets through the trainline and go through quidco and have a family railcard.

We stayed in the Premier Inn at Tower Bridge which was fab. It wasn't far from Tower of London and I felt very safe. We would jump on the tube from Tower Hill to where we wanted to start and go from there. Kids had a ball. I booked breakfast in advance but there was plenty places to eat or we had Papa Johns across the street and a wetherspoons for a sunday roast.

We worked out for 6 of us for 3 nights it was only £78pp for the whole time we were there and that included 3 breakfasts.

we go to london often and always look for the cheapest travelodge/premier inn place we can find. there is always one of them with a deal on so worth looking around. no point paying more when all you do is sleep there. second others about family railcard ours pays for itself after one journey.

I noticed a travel agent in Northallerton offering two or three night breaks in London, including train travel and hotel, for less than the cost of standard train tickets... Might be worth a quick check?

Have you thought of apartments.

I have been looking at a few (found through Owners Direct) and for three nights in half term, centralish London it was going to be £450 which I thought was pretty good against the hotel prices.
