Cheap car hire

We are travelling to England in December and want to look into hiring a car for about 2 or 3 weeks. Can anyone recommend any car hire places that aren't too expensive? It doesn't have to be a flash car!

Would suggest you check with garages/websites of places in the town that you are first going to. the big hire companies will all be the same price whichever town but if you go to someone local you might be able to get a better deal. if you are staying with relatives get them to do the leg work for you.

We used to hire cars a lot, and the little local places were much cheaper - and if you want to hire over Christmas and New Year you can get good deals as they want the cars safely out with people
