I am in Oxford and have to use public transport (with 4 young children and no adult to help!)
I usually day 2 or 3 seaside day trips a year, plus the odd soft play, farm or zoo trip.
This year I want to do something a bit different. I don't want to go too far or anywhere too expensive. I don't mind staying overnight so I don't spend more time travelling than I do at the destination! However it can be difficult to find anywhere that can accommodate so many of us. Haven is fairly cheap and can accommodate us all but often their sites are not very near a train station, I am to tired to enjoy the holiday as there is so much noise from holidaymakers returning to their caravans late at night and I usually get lost trying to find my way back to the caravan! I do love the characters, swimming pools and activities there though. I wouldn't want to camp anywhere.
ike I said, I want to do something a bit different. Although I could spend all day every day at the seaside as we all love it I was thinking maybe countryside, lakes, mountains, waterfalls, would be nice but probably not possible without lots of travelling. So maybe rockpools instead? Maybe then we can combine our beloved seaside experience with something we haven't done before too. We have a giant sandpit at home so pebble rather than sandy beach wouldn't matter as long as we could go in the sea when we have had enough rockpooling. Usually go to weston so don't get to go in the sea as its so far out you'd have to risk your life going through the sinking mud to get to it.
