Can anyone recommend good locations to stay in the Lake District? It needs to be somewhere close to lots of hills that DH and I can get up and down quickly (5 or 6 hours max).
We'll be bringing our 10mo DD (plus grandparents to babysit) - I'm still feeding her so don't want to be away from her for much longer than 6 hours.
All my hillwalking experience has been in Scotland and I really don't know the Lakes at all well.
