North Norfolk - stepping back in time

Just returned from lovely relaxing holiday in North Norfolk (Mundesley) we were lucky with the weather (mainly) and beaches were beautiful and most dog friendly. Plenty of fresh air to ensure the children sleep well and stayed in a child friendly cottage so everyone happy. Completely unspoilt with plenty going on nearby. Would really recommend. Thinking of Northumberland next - any ideas?

Oh i cant believe someone mentioned Mundesley. i used to go there 45+years ago as a very small child with my extended family. bought a tear to my eye as most of them are no longer with us! Southwold is great and the area around can be very unspoilt. also love North Wales around Porthmadog. we stay at Borth y gest which has some fantastic walking. also have a look at the bodmin moor area. we stay at a place near Looe and always go up onto the moor. you can go for hours in mid summer and see no-one - my idea of heaven. se cornwall is a lot less touristy and a million miles away from newquay. pm me if you want any more details.

Alnwick is lovely in northumberland. The castle is where they filmed harry potter and they have a fantastic treehouse with a restaurant in it. Alnwick is also home to Barter books. It is also near enough to Bamburgh castle and holy island for day trips. Seahouses is also worth a visit.
