We love the palm court brasserie.

Sofra has a good menu to suit all, good value, not too touristy Sofra

There is a Carluccios in Covent Garden.

The area around Lecester Sq is quite grim for eating, except in Chinatown

sofra looks gorg but not too child friendly by the looks of it

Belgo in Earlham St is quite fun and child-friendly in the daytime. Sofra is perfectly child friendly as long as your DS is a reasonably adventurous eater.

I would really recommend Porters English restaurant in Covent Garden. Lovely food, friendly staff and a childrens menu too. Probably best to book, it's very popular. Sorry can't do link, but have a look at their website to see if the food would suit.

Took mine to Jamie's Italian just off Leicester Sq recently they really enjoyed it. Food & service were really good. Also like Browns as its nice & relaxed if a little touristy.

Sofra has the grills - grilled chicken, child's portion £5-95, also lamb meatballs in a child's portion - I am sure they also do pasta dishes but I couldn't get the menu to scroll down. Also the set menus - pitta and hoummous then a grilled kebabb or chicken fillet.

Give us an idea of what you need as child friendly!
