Can anyone help please with finding either a holiday cottage 3-4 bedroom for 4 adults, 2 children and 2 toddlers that is near Snowdon (short car drive away?). Failing this (prices depending) as I really cannot afford everything :D is there a nice caravan park instead?

I cannot decide between Devon and Snowdonia. I know my ds would love the train up to the top but Dartmouth sounds so good too!

All suggestions very much appreciated.
Thank you!

There is a caravan park called Brynteg in Llanrug which is about 3 miles from llanberis. Nice pub down the road serving food called the Glyntwrog.

Not sure abour holiday cottages but if you want Snowdon concentrate your area around Llanberis, Betws y Coed, Caernarfon,Llanrug, Beddgelert etc.

Ogwen bank has nice log cabins. Bu there is a river so you would have to watch the little ones.

We stayed in a place in across from Dartmouth called Kingsweir coastguard cottage I think. Was nice and quiet and thee was a steam train running past every couple of hours (great with small boys!) however North Wales is fantastic for a holiday too and probably a bit cheaper. There's tons to do if trains are your DS's thing then there is also the llanberis lake railway.

before you go please check out the cost of taking the train up snowdon. they charge for kids and imo the price is horrendous. we go to wales every year but have never been able to afford this. £25 for an adult, £18 for a child and £18 per toddler if you want them to have a seat. a whopping £172 for a couple of hours. we usually stay in Porthmadog and find this a good spot for touring around. borth y gest and areas near black rock sands are very nice.

Just recommended 'under the thatch' cottages on another link (not on commission I promise!) we stayed in snowdon last year in pentrefoelas farm- was beautiful and reasonable prices Smile
