Hi - I am in great need of a break and looking for a fab hotel, with restaurant, kids club and pool within about 3 hours or so from London. I would be extremely grateful for any recommendations. Thank you!

Have a look at the awaywiththekids website for some ideas. have found them to be good in the past.

I was going to post the very same.

In the past we have been to the Four Seasons Hampshire and liked it although it is a little big and not especially well located. Calcot Manor is hard to beat and the only reason we wouldn't go there is that dc are a bit old for the downstairs kids club area and too young for upstairs. We would send the, for a couple of hours a couple of times to head to the spa. It's a good compromise as we have never gone away just me and dh.
