So I have set my heart on going somewhere near a village and beach in Northumbria ? Bamburgh area with dh and dcx2 this summer but my head hurts with all the choice. I'd appreciate any recommendations.

I like Beadnell - the beach is lovely.

Hi, for me it has to be Seahouses - but thats for the fish and chips from the Neptune Fish Restaurant :)
Wasn't sure of your budget but this seemed like a good deal and unusual 2BedSeahouses HolidayHomes have a number near the coast at Bamburgh which you book direct NorthumbrianCoast

Thanks for the suggestions. Have a budget of up to £700 pounds. Have given myself this weekend to decide or else this will go on and on....

My best friend owns a holiday cottage right in the heart of Seahouses, two bedrooms, just a few hundred yards behind the harbour. Its a stone built cottage, attached to others with its own parking. Perfect for beach and village, but no garden. Would be well within your budget I think. She advertises through one of the big agencies but takes bookings herself too. Email [email protected]

Depends what kind of place you want to stay in. I personally hate Seahouses - all amusement arcades and tourist shops. Heart was ripped out of the village 40 years ago.

If you want a slightly less spoilt and quieter place, I would go for Embleton. Quite a few holiday rentals there.
