SOUTHAMPTON!

Is there anyone around knows Southampton?

I have a 2 day break there soon (22nd Dec). Staying at West Quay PremierInn.

Starting to panic now (so busy lately, and baby not been sleeping so I'm not quite with it!)

  1. Am I going to be able to park in the multistory carpark at West Quay shopping centre that close to xmas?

  2. Need something to do on the first day - have a 4 year old and a 8month old. Was thinking Splash Down or The Rapids as swimming will be inside so out the weather. Which one, or any other idea? (Also, swimming will leave me with time to go shopping!!!)

(Day 2 will be.... Peppa Pig World!!!)

Hi I am near Southampton, I assume the Premier Inn advise you where to park nearby?, there are a few large multi storey car parks very near.

Romsey Rapids and Splash Down at Poole are good but both are car journeys away, just opposite the hotel is The Quays, which maybe more convenient?!

If the weather was good you could have a day trip as a foot passenger to Cowes on the Isle of Wight, by either ferry or catamaran. My DCs all loved boat trips but may be a bit chilly?

Marwell Zoo also has Santa, but expect yours would prefer Paultons Park (Peppa Pig World), you may have to prebook either of them.

There is a big Ikea and John Lewis plus all the usual ones, and at Leisure World (again near to you) is a multi screen cinema, there is a panto on at the Mayflower Theatre but may be too old for your little ones.

Hope you have good break!!

Moving to Southampton
Hello, I'm moving to Southampton - my OH will work at the hospital, but I will need to commute to London. Help! Anyone else in this position. Can people recommend where to live? What somewhere nice - local cafe, a few shops, etc - bit somewhere not too difficult to commute from. How do people find the commute? Schools not really a concern yet but will be in a couple of years.
Thanks
