Hi all, looking for ideas other than C Parcs as we can`t afford them! Praying my dh next ct scan is clear in Jan, so we can get away in Feb. My trio will be 14 in Jan. Would like a midweek break with a difference, any ideas please? We like freshwater fishing bird watching and roaming animals! Thank you.

Send them to PGL for an adventure holiday and you and dh have a child free few days in a luxury hotel somewhere with a spa?

triplets · 21/11/2011 23:07

Hi Mumble, would love to but if we sent them then there would be no money left for us!

Triplets pgl is cheaper than you think. they are offering 2 for 1 deals as well as half price ones at the moment particularly . not sure where you are in the country but my 3 have been to 4 different ones now. they have a whale of a time and we have a holiday at home doing all the things we cant do when they are here - like lazy breakfasts, lunch out, national trust houses, walks without a purpose. go onto their website and see the deals that they have. what is your budget for the 5 of you. do you want UK or warm?

Hi UK as we can`t get travel ins to cover dh for the cancer:(
Prob about £500 for something nice mid week or a week would be lovely! Its just finding stuff for the kids, in the past we have been to places that say games room, and found a pool table with half the balls missing etc! We live in Deal nr Dover, Kent. Will look at PGL, they went once two years ago and loved it, Windmill Hill in Sussex I think. Which ones have yours been too and enjoyed? They were 12 last time and now would go up to the 13+ group so might find that more interesting!

DS has been to Marchants Hill in Surrey a couple of times for multi activity up to age about 12, and on a motorsports one in Devon when he was 13 and we stayed in Bovey Castle for that week. Twas great, we all got to do what we wanted.

Triplets my kids love Osmington Bay in Weymouth. i asked them and it wins hands down with them. We stay at Wringworthy holiday cottages in Cornwall - about 20/30 mins from Plymouth so not right down the end. they have a proper games room and arent far from the sea. had a look on their price list and a week at feb half term is around £300. We have always found plenty to do in the area as well. If not have a look at fox valley cottages bit out in the wilds and a bit more expensive but can recommend them. good luck hope you find something.

Thanks will look those up.................just had an email from PGL, Caysthorpe is the only site open for half term, the others are being renovated and will be open for Easter, so thats that!

What about the Youth Hostel Association - they do some 'organised' activity breaks as well as do your own thing.

Thinking of spending next Christmas in Australia, have Dh brother over in melbourne. Anyone done this with teens? DD will be 12 and DS will be 14. What is the best place to stopover? Thought Hong Kong might be nice. Any info on which airlines are best also would be good.
