Can you recommend a nice area or self-catering accom in Devon (near-ish to Dawlish or Exmouth)

I am looking at renting a self-catering property next June for a week. We are going to a wedding at The Great Barn in Higher Ashton (about 10 miles South-West of Exeter) so ideally want to be within about 20-ish miles of there.

We normally stay up near Bude in Farm Stay places, so we don't know anything about the East side of Devon. Can anyone recommend a nice area or somewhere to stay? I've started looking at Dawlish or Exmouth or even down towards Teignmouth - but not sure if they are nice areas? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

The titches will be 2 and 4, and we would love to be a short walk/drive from the sea (sandy beach if possible), have a minimum of 3 bedrooms, and a swimming pool would be a big bonus.

Try a place called Little Ringmore (www.littleringmore.co.uk/) in Shaldon, which is just the other side of Teignmouth and much prettier. A wonderful estuary village. You can get the little local ferry from Shaldon to Teignmouth.
Little Ringmore overlooks the water - but does not have a pool.
Sleeps 6.
However the sandy part of the beach is only a 5 min walk from the house.
Shaldon really is a very special little village.
Higher Ashton is easy to get to from there - i would say about 15 min drive.
