We're off to Ironbridge for a few days over half term and I was just wondering if anyone has any tips regarding the museums - what's good/not so good etc? The dds are keen to see the Victorian town museum.

We're staying at the Telford Golf Club Hotel btw.

You can buy a pass which does all 7 museums - might be worth a look cost-wise as none of them are cheap.

Ingenuity is good - engineering but v hands on with lots of exhibits you can do stuff to/with.

Sweet park with fairy walks etc in Telford called Wonderland.

Yes buy a museum passport. This allows you to visit all of the ironbridge museums as many times as you like within 12 months. Any that you haven't visited, you can still visit one time in the future.
I have a passport I got 3 years ago, and as I haven't yet gone to the pipe works I can go there once anytime I like. You do have to take the passport with you when you visit and have it clipped at each museum.

Defo get the passport. Engenuity is good.
They'll be doing different art activities for the kids at each location at half term so check the timings on the website so you know which days to do which museum.
And the fish and chips in Blists Hill Victorian Town are the best In The World, but the queues are long as lunchtime gets in full swing so get in line as soon as they open the doors (11:30 ish I think).
Allow for lots of spending money in Blists Hill, it's mostly quite good quality and good value, so you'd want to do/buy all the optional extras, but a couple of pounds here and there for each child adds up quite quickly.

Would have to agree with everyone else. Buy a pass. Blists Hill and Enginuity are definitely worth going to.

We've just come back and it was brilliant!

The Victorian Town was fantastic and whoisthatmaskedwoman - you were right about the fish and chips - def worth the wait! My dds loved the Victorian schoolroom with v scary teacher! And the rides.

Engenuity was very good too. They also did pottery making at the china museum and tile painting at the tile museum.

Thanks for the tips.
