Oh help, oh no! Contemplating Centre Parcs

We were due our only break this year this coming weekend, except we forgot to sort 10 mo DS's passport . I am so desperate for some time away, that we are contemplating a Centre Parc. I never thought I'd say this, to me it seems like the worst place ever. But we have two pre-schoolers (DD is 2.5) and we were looking forward to a change of scene.

Would you recommend CP? Which one? Or should we just stay put in London??

we went to the elveden forest one last october half term for exactly those reasons you have and had a nice time despite it being school holidays and very busy. hassle free, about an hours drive from london. the lodges are nice, lots to do for the kids (kids clubs if you want a break) and the babysitting was fab £6 per hour so dh and I used the twighlight spa which i totally recommend then a lovely quiet dinner for 2. its back to school this week so this weekend shouldn't be so busy. you can rent bikes, saw some with kids carriages on the back so you could pull the 10 mo along and your dd can bike or scooter?

anyway, in short worth it if you need a change of scenery.

Have you looked at some of the really child friendly hotels like Moonfleet manor or Bedruthan steps. We found Cp to be good with older children but when our DD was 1 and we went it was really difficult to make use of the activities with her being so small. can remember plonking her in a play pen next to the swimming pool so we could enjoy a swim together. Agree with crepes but only if the children are older not when they are tiny.

Sherwood is fab. We go a couple of times a year and we really like it. It does get busy in the holidays but there is so much to do that it wont spoil it.
