Anyone been to The Bay Filey??

Considering it for a long weekend with DH and DS who is 3.5 at the end of September. Like the fact that the accomodation is cottages and fairly new and its only a short walk to the beach. Originally considering Centre Parcs but don't think its our thing and is also sooo expensive. Just want to have a few days away doing our own thing, digging and pottering on the beach (in a fleece and wellies if need be!!) but with the benefit of an indoor pool if the weather is awful. There appears to be a kids farm park not too far away and the sea life place in Scarborough as other options DS would love.
Any personal experiences would be useful before I book!

I haven't been but I've driven past lots of times and it looks lovely. Filey is a lovely british seaside town. Nearby there is playdale farm park which is excellent fun and there is a lovely farm shop with cafe and play area 2 minutes drive away along with a few family friendly pubs. Scarborough has loads to offer- speedboat rides, pirate ship rides, funfair, open top bus rides, peasholm park with boat hire and a fun naval warfare show, lots of family pubs/restaurants, sealife centre, shire horse centre. I could go on! I love Scarborough! We have a weekend break there every year!

We've driven around it (we have a caravan next door at primrose) and it looks lovely. Filey beach is one of the nicest I've ever been to, and Scarborough is a lovely seaside, with plenty to do.

Should add, ds1 has just turned 5, and ds2 is 2.8, and they love Scarborough, personally I'd avoid Bridlington, but that could just be me.

No it's not just you, I found Bridlington to be awful in comparison to Filey and Scarborough.
