Centre park or cottage?

we have a Ds 3 and Dd 5 months. Was looking at winfell. Thought it looked nice but not cheap. Things for Ds to do though. Or maybe better just hiring a cottage somewhere?

It depends on what you want from a holiday really. I'm a big fab of Center Parcs, there is do much to do and it's in a lovely setting with nice accommodation. There are kids clubs, babysitters also if you wanted a break to go the spa or something.

That sounds really nice to me. DH wants to go abroad but I feel anxious about flying etc with two wee ones. Think I will try and sell CP.

Just to balance it up then we are more in favour of a cottage on a site with things to do. i felt that cp was just a bit too organised fun for me when we went and although our last visit is a couple of years ago and our kids are older it just didnt suit tbh. at 3 what do they really want - sand, a bucket and spade and some time with you. quite agree that you might need them to be in a kids club so you get some time but it is quite a lot more for a cp week/weekend than the comparable in a cottage. as for flying - hmmm rather you than me with a 5 month old and a toddler! when you go abroad the expenses start to add up but also things like taking your sterilising kit, formula or top up milk, baby jars. will the 5m and 3yo really appreciate it any more than a hol at home? just my thoughts - good luck and hope you have fun.

I agree with mummy - a cottage on a site with a few facilities. At CP I really missed not being able to go for a mooch in the local town. It really depends what you're looking for. you should have plenty of choice if you're not tied to school hols. A holiday abroad would be hard work!

We've decided not to go anywhere, it's all too expensive. Maybe next year.
