Megabus experiences, anyone?

It's SOO cheap I'm seriously considering it. Leeds to London. But is it hell? What are the toilets really like? Will travelling with 13 yr old in confined space for 6hours lead to emotional scarring on both sides?!!!

It's a normal coach I think (have used megatrain, which is a carriage on the normal train). Just cheap and inflexible and cheap.

Travelling with a 13yo is surely just a matter of plugging them in to their ipod/other entertainment device and then reading/going to sleep?

with a 3yo, OTOH, I would say it would indeed be hell on earth.

I have used mega train several times and am going to use mega bus on Thursday have had no issues.

What do you mean inflexible Chippy?

ChippyMinton · 26/04/2011 17:40

Inflexible as in you buy a ticket for a particular bus time and that's that. Unlike catching a train for example.

Yes, toilet is useable - as long as you are the first one using it!

I have some horrid experiences of megabus, but ime if you are prepared for the worst case scanario, then you'll be fine!

We endured an 8 hour trip in one, where a 2 year old screamed solid all the way. It was very painful for the whole busload!
We all looked very traumatised as we got off!
