I have booked a beach hut in Mudeford Bay, Christchurch, Dorset for a 24 hour period, more or less. (Sat 7th may - Sun 8th )
I have a 10 yr old son I am taking there. My partner cant make it now on that weekend because he is working. I did invite my sister with her 2 sons, but now she cant make it either.
Not sure what to do....Do i cancel, or.......
.....Know this is a shot in the dark, but,....is there anyone (mum) out there with a 10 yr old boy who might like a free of charge stay, either just the day or even overnight ? ?

Um, I have a 5 yr old DS and live just down the road. DS has been desperate to stay in a beach hut but we've never got round to it. But, I know you wanted a 10 yr old and although my DS is fairly grown up fir his age, he's still 5!

Well lets chat and see if its possible. My son really likes younger children. Where abouts are you living? We live in Salisbury .

We're in Bournemouth (Christchurch side). DS likes to dig huge holes on the beach (or rather likes to make me dig big holes while he watches)

Awwh . Yea its hard with one child as they need you to play and amuse them. My big 2 children have grown up and left home so my 10 yr old is always in need of me to kick a ball or take him out etc. Although i miss him , (like last week) he enjoys going to his dads lots where there is more to do.
I am wondering what the weather will be like in May.. knowing Britain it will rain that weekend... Not meaning to sound a total pessimist, but if it does that Saturday I will probably cancel.
Fingers X it will be warm and sunny!

Yes, lone children can be hard. But wonderful too. I always miss DS when he;s away.

Beach would be miserable in the rain - hope for sun!

Well its seems reasonable to say that if we are having a boomer week of brilliant weather up till the Friday , we can safely assume i spose that the Sat will be really warm too and we will go. Why dont you come over on the Sat for the day and the boys can dig and run about. ?
If anyone else is interested we can all meet up there and have a Mums net afternoon. Bring a bottle of wine or soft drink etc...? Packed lunch or we could buy in the cafe/restaurant?
