Hi

We are going to be holidaying here soon and I was hoping some lovely MNetters would be able to give me some 'must visit' pointers - which beaches? Outdoor and indoor options all welcomed.

Hope you can help...

TIA

You won't be far from The Eden Project.

Depends how old your dc are? But we had a fab day kayaking down the river Fowey with a company (can't remember the name sorry, but think plenty do it).

Been to the Eden project a few times and don't rate it particularly but may depend on age of your dcs.

How far are you planning on travelling once you're there? How old are your dc?

Hi! Dc are 6 and 4. We're planning the Eden project since we're so close... think it's just 3 or so miles away. Up to 30 / 45 mins travel would be ideal tho' happy to travel further if there is something fab to see...

Fowey itself is lovely though.

Hire bikes in Padstow and ride the Camel Trail.
Riding on Dartmoor.

Crabbing in Fowey - grab some bait and lines from the sailing shop by the quay.

There's a lovely bistro in Fowey, www.tiffinsbistro.co.uk/ the food is delicious, particuarly their cream tea.

We didn't really rate the Eden project, though I do think it is one of those things you should see...your children might really enjoy it, but when we went it was a hot summers day (remember them?!) and the biomes were just unbearable. My children did enjoy running around the grounds though which are fabulous.

The Lost Gardens of Heligan are great - not far from the EP, St. Austell way.

Not that nearby, but fab, is Watergate Bay - we love the Beach Hut for fantastic hot chocolates and burgers!

Hope you have a lovely time, we love Cornwall - going back at Easter for our 7th visit, and can't wait.

Is Tintagel Castle too far? went to Cornwall when mine was a little one in pushchair so couldn't do it, I am however a big King Arthur fan and so it's on my one day must do list. Can imagine children who can walk would love it!!

Sorry for hi-jacking. I should start my own thread really,- is Fowey nicer/better than Padstow? We have done Padstow to the death and I am now looking for something similar (old town, harbour etc)

Thanks everyone, some great info. xx
