Could anyone recommend a really nice family friendly hotel in Inverness.

Quite close to inverness itsself as we are only staying for 2 days.

Also can anyone suggest any activies/attractions for our ds age 2 and 7.

Had planned to go to landmark on way there, anyhting else?
Thankyou.

oooh we are planning a trip there soon! Bogbain Farm is a massive hit with four - sort of a muddy farm with some activities. Dolphin spotting boat trip? The museum is quite good. Mainly outdoors trekking around - the Islands is a nice park with a big pond and play area and mini train.

Thanks,will check out thos suggestions.

Any ideas on a nice hotel anyone?

Have looked at kingsmill/kingsclub and Inverness apartments but not sure they are suitable with 2 kids.

hi

i have quite a few connections with inverness and got married there - so i'm a bit of a fan!

there is a great hotel in a great location here:www.bunchrew-inverness.co.uk/

it is closed for most weekends (fri/sat evenings) for weddings during spring summer so i don't know if that will work for you? it is also not the cheapest place. all the rooms are different and some would def be ok for kids. they also do a kids menu

landmark is absolutely great and i'd highly recommend. near inverness is fort george which may be of interest. if you are interested in amazing scenery however you could head to glen affric, which is around a 50 min drive west of inverness.

i also agree with suggestions made by grumpypants

another great place to go on a good weather day is loch morlich - near aviemore - it has a beach so perfect place for kids to place in sand all day, with cairngorms as a spectacular backdrop.

hope this is helpful - any other questions happy for you to PM me

Another vote for the Kingsmill hotel.

Fort George is good

Nairn has a nice play area and crazy gold type thing for kids. Good prom if they are on bikes, scooters, roller boots etc.

We moved away in 2003 but I recall a group of small "islands" in the river at Inverness, Each small Island linked by a small bridge and each Island has something on it like model dinosaurs etc. No idea if it is still there. Anyone local know what I am on about?
