Please help with Easter Hols

Hi All

I've suddenly decided that we absolutely must go away for a week in the Easter holidays and would love to go to one of the fantastic-sounding places such as Bosinver and the like except I'm clearly FAR too late and they're all full.

So... please could I have some recommendations?

It's for DH and I, and DC age 5 and 2. We're pretty active, outdoorsy types but it's too early for camping and ideally we're after the following -

S/C with family friendly facilities.
An indoor pool would be awesome.
Farm-based would be great.
Within 3-4 hours drive of London.
Indoor play facilities of some description.
Less than a gazillion pounds a week.

I thank you.

Wanders off to bed in happy anticipation of the collective brilliance of MNers providing me with the perfect holiday for about £3.50. Grin

I'm with you there! We cancelled our much-longed for trip to Sharm due to the troubles in the Middle East so far (could have justified it if just DH and I but not risking it with two very young children) and also a possible house move so now looking for something local like you. Not camping types either so looking forward to any suggestions you get (and fighting you for it! LOL!). Grin

We have just come back from a wonderful, wonderful Feb half term in St Ives Cornwall. Not sure if thats within 4 hrs of London? We have 4 children, (ds14, ds,8, dd 7 and ds 2) so for the first time travelled through the night there and back and it worked really well. Cornwall is around 8 hrs from us during the day.

The children spent their days playing in the sand building sand castles, in the sea with wet suits having a go at surfing, lots of picnics on the beach and walks with the dog (who also had a wonderful week)! It was lovely. We had a harbour front apartment and went to bed with curtains open so woke up with the feeling that we were almost on the beach.

The only downside is the distance and in the summer it is a victim of its own success and so, so busy but Easter should be lovely.

Thanks for the feedback, folks. We've just booked Honeysuckle Cottage at Court Farm (see UK reviews). Can't quite believe we've got in the pick of the year as everywhere else seemed so full so am very relieved. Get in quick, angel, they've still got a couple of spaces left! Grin
