We are going to centre parcs in longleaf this weekend for a weekend break. We have never been before and are staying in a comfort plus accommodation. Do you have any tips on what to take? Do we Need to take toilet roll and what kitchen stuff? Oil? Etc. Thanks all!

You should get loo roll (normally 2) but just in case, I'd take one.

Yes, of course you need all food products (or buy in ParcMarket once you get there). They don't provide any food items other than sachets of tea/coffee/UHT milk for when you get there. Everything else, you have to take/buy.

You can order a welcome pack (small or large) or you can order a Parcmarket shop to be delivered if over £40.

Don't forget, all products are branded so will be more expensive than usual. Not as much choice of goods either but enough to get you through.

Comfort plus should provide you with vila towels. However, you will still need to take pool towels as villa towels aren't allowed in pool. Have you read the arrival info Grin - it will tell you everything you could possibly need to know.

I'd take a sharp knife, they're always blunt in the lodges. I'd take all the basics as the queues in the Parc market on the first day are often horrendous.

We didn't have a chopping board so went to info centre and got one sent. however, if, like me, you're particular about using separate boards for raw and cooked, then take a chopping board with you - you never who has used the one they provide for what!!!

Warm clothes! Some people (me) think the whole park is under a dome and take summer clothes in winter Grin

liath · 09/02/2011 20:38

I thought the whole place was under a dome too the first time I went Blush.

Second the sharp knife!! The knives are crap. Bin liners! For lining bins obviously but also for putting over bike seats when you leave them and it's likely to rain.

When you think about food, don't forget salt, pepper, tea, coffee, etc you need to take EVERYTHING you will need if you self cater. Paper towels, cloth, cling film - the lot. I have it down more or less pat now!!

If you are goung to longleat also take an oxygen tank for when you get to the top of the hills on your bike and are purple in the face from the effort"!!

Frying pan! I have had some rubbish ones at CP that have shed their teflon in my cooking dinner.

Dishwasher tablets and washing up liquid.

Lots of swimming towels - they get soggier as the weekend goes on, so by Monday the thought of swimming is not attractive!

Nothing foodwise is provided, so as marge2 says, take everything you would take self-catering.

We are just back - have fun!

(Also take full armoury of medicines - we always end up with temperatures etc - hopefully you are made of sterner stuff!)

I was well fit after a week at LL !!! All those hilld and our villa was as far from the pool as it possibly could be!

Don't forget though (especially if it's raining) that you can catch the 'land train' every 10 mins or so if you don't feel like walking.

I would also suggest taking cleaning products/air freshners. Our LL villa smelt very sweaty Hmm and I figured that they probably used the same cloth for multiple villas Shock.

Then at Elvedon, they refunded us £135 as our villa was awful and the chidlren's room smelt sweaty and was damp for the whole week. Not trying to put you off but if you do get a didgy villa, complain straight away and ask for it to be recleaned.
