Although I live in Scotland, I've never ventured as far North. Anyone been? Thinking about taking a week and touring in May/June time.

Thanks.

Also, any accommodation suggestions? Just a reasonable hotel that we can may be have a drink in the bar in the evening before DS goes to bed.

Go. Its a beautiful part of the country. May and June are great times to go - less midgies, often good sunshine and less tourists. We usually go for cottages so fraid I dont have hotel recommendations. Great part of the world to visit.

in fort william there are beautiful chalets, quite reasonable. You might not want to stay in Skye for more than a couple of days. More a day trip or over night ime.

Fantastic place to go. I spent most of my childhood holidays there or thereabouts. Loved it. Lots to do, remember one place i went had a deer enclosure (with stags etc) and horse riding/pony trekking. shame i cant remember where or the name of the place, would love to go again
