Hotels/places to stay in North Somerset/Weston Super Mare

We're off to the North Somerset coast for the weekend of the 24/25th July but trying to find family accomodation is proving difficult.

Anyone got any recommendations? B&B's? Hotels?

I only need it for one night but would like something for 2 adults, 2 children & 1 baby. Would prefer modern, clean places at a reasonable price but anything welcome! Could go boutique if anything lovely out there?

Personally I would avoid WSM on the weekends... tis not a nice place these days!

I live here so haven't had cause to stay in a hotel but they all look pretty dated from the outside I'm afraid...

The ship and castle at congresbury is meant to be lovely though if that's not too far?

The beer and cider festival is on at the beach lawns that weekend, was good fun last year with quite a bit of family stuff to do.

Thanks - would Clevedon be more family-friendly do you think? Any little sandy beaches around? Doesn't have to be WSM itself.

Will look at Congresbury - cheers!

For beaches I like Sand Bay, it's just a beach without any of the tat donkey rides, bouncy castles etc. Not quite as sandy though. Lovely walk along the cliff there too

Clevedon is also less tacky imo
