Trinity and Whitgift 10+ Tutor needed

Hi all

New member and first time poster here so please bear with me if my etiquette is a bit off!

I'm looking for recommendations for a tutor for my 9 year old son specifically with experience of Trinity and Whitgift 10+ entry.

My son has had a tutor on and off for several years and is exceeding in all area's, but we've been having some issues with his current tutor and feel we need to change. We would of course be happy to discuss this in detail with any potential tutor to ensure we are on the same page.

He will be sitting the entrance exams this year, so we need someone who can really focus on what is required for those 2 schools between now and November. If he is unsuccessful, we would then continue tutoring for another year and try again for 11+, but feel with the right tutor and a good 'tune up' he has a very good chance at 10+.

We are in SE London, but could potentially travel a bit or do online.

Is he currently in state or independent? If he is exceeding why do you need a tutor. They both do 10+,11+ and 13+.

He is in a state primary which used to be wonderful but sadly has gone downhill a bit in recent years. He has needed a tutor for this reason but also needs one going forward because those are the two schools we really want for a number of reasons and we want to make sure he is as well equipped to tackle the entrance exams as possible. If he is unsuccessful at 10+ we will of course take stock and probably try again at 11+ but for now 10+ is our focus.

Have you thought of moving him to a prep? My DS was at Cumnor- lots of the boys went on to Trinity or Whitgift. Mine went to Whitgift at 11+ and is absolutely thriving.

Glad to hear he is thriving, it looks like a wonderful school! Our DS is going into year 5 now, so we wouldn't want to move him twice in 2 years, it would be too much upheaval. He's very capable and accomplished in other area's - he is a scholarship candidate for drama, sports and music and his academic level is high we just want to make sure he is prepped as much as possible to tackle those entrance exams specifically.
