I am a new victim of this fraud service! I signed up to get help for my DS in 2022 for his GSSEs. At that time we were only told about a 36 month contract but no mention of will not be able to cancel no matter what. He then went on to do A-levels and we continued the lessons. However due to unforeseen circumstances, he can no longer continue his A-levels in chosen subjects. He decided to repeat his A-levels but now in different subjects which are self study.
We still have a year worth of lessons on Go Student so I went to them trying to cancel it. After numerous tries, we finally got in touch with them but they refused as expected. Despite explaining, providing evidence they did not cancel but kept us waiting for their reply.
They have now taken the payment from my bank without providing any lessons for the last two months. I contacted my bank to cancel the direct debit but they say cancelling direct debit will not change anything as the company has an ongoing contract and they are entitled to take the money.
My question is, has any of you managed to come out of this trap? If yes, please share how. My son is already under so much stress and was finally beginning to like his new subjects. But seeing this ongoing issue, he is feeling bad despite what we say to him.,
If I have to, I will pay the cancellation fee but this has not been offered to me.
