Tutor recommendations for English Lit GCSE - West Mids or online

Looking for recommendations for an English Literature Tutor. We had my Y11 daughters parents evening last night and there are some real issues with the standard of English teaching so we are really going to need a tutor to supplement what the school are doing to help her to achieve her potential

We are near the Wolverhampton / Shropshire border and would like to look at both in person and online.

I've got a couple of meetings set up with tutors from My Tutor, but any other recommendations or recommendations for in person would be great. Thanks 😊

Ok, things you need to know:

  1. There are several exam boards for English Literature - AQA, Eduqas, Edexcel and OCR. You will need a tutor who is familiar with that board.
  2. There are several book/play choices for each board. You will need a tutor who has preferably taught each book before (I say preferably because some book choices are quite unusual so this will be a bigger ask for Hobson's Choice than it will be for An Inspector Calls). Your daughter will be studying 3 books/plays and a poetry anthology. The most common book/play choices for schools are Macbeth, A Christmas Carol and An Inspector Calls.
  3. A lot of tutors will be fully booked/almost fully booked so your daughter may well have to take a slot that's a bit awkward. Talk to her about times she can realistically do.

Let me know if you want to know anything else.
