I am looking for a tutor to help my year 5 daughter prepare for entry to top schools in London, both within the consortium and out. Recommendations gratefully received.

Hello
your daughter sounds very clever, and sounds like someone my daughter would like to learn from.
Altnough at the moment I am specifically looking for someone who can prepare my daughter for the 11+ exams. Someone who can prep her for the exams for the schools within the consortium and those not. Do you have any recommendations on that front?
if ok with you I will also keep your daughter in mind as a maths tutor? My daughter loves maths and works really hard at it so I will assess whether she could benefit from having some extra help in this area too? Your daughter sounds like a good fit and also an excellent role model.
in the meantime if you know of any 11+ tutors please do let me know.

We used Tayberry.org.uk and they were great - on line and a lot cheaper than the London based tutoring services. They both passed and DS3 is doing 9 plus with them now. They make it fun for them and not too much homework which suited us

Adventure tuition have been good for us

Barboursandbaking · 07/10/2023 20:22

Which part of London are you in? N, W or SW? Depending on where I may have a recommendation to pass on as they work face to face.

Margic · 08/10/2023 03:17

Hi @Margic ! How did you get on with Tutors? Are you still looking?

Margic · 16/10/2023 11:32

Hi! Yes I am still looking. Do you have a recommendation?

You could try Tutor Hunt. You can view the tutors profiles and pick which one you think seems best. They also have a section on feedback from students/parents. Some students go back on and say what grade they got.

Margic · 16/10/2023 16:58

Thank you. Very much appreciated!

Hi, I'm not sure if you're still looking for recommendations, but EAA Virtual Learning is a very wonderful online tutoring programme that I actually use for all three of my kids , aged 10, 13 and 16, let me know if you would like me to share the contact details, and Good Luck with your daughters entry exam!

Seasaltlady · 04/12/2023 17:46

@Barboursandbaking Hello, would you mind dm’ing me the details too please? I am SW based and looking for a maths tutor for 11+. Thanks!
