GCSE Maths and English online tutoring - urgent (ish)!

Hello
My daughter (aged 14 year 9) and son (aged 12 year 8) both really need to get going on tutoring, I think in maths and english. My daughter in particular ahead of GCSEs.

Both of them struggle in maths, less so in English but the teaching they are getting at school definitely needs to be supplemented. Could anyone recommend an online tutor who specialises in preparing for GCSE in maths and english? We live on the Oxfordshire border and in person tutoring is likely to be tricky so online would be fantasic if someone could recommend? sorry for the bold - my mistake, and thank you in anticipation.😀

I tutor.
I have marked GCSEs for more than 15 years. I also see my friends recommend tutors for children and how good they are. Always puzzles me when they don’t have kids nor used them.
I’m not after your business as i am fully booked.
Anyway.
Who ever you go with please check they have DBS.
You need to get an initial session sorted where you can basically get the vibe as to whether your child and the tutor gel.
Find out what exam experience they have compared to what you need. I could get your child a grade 9 but my forte is working with border line students and working with their mindset and anxiety. No amount of post it notes fixes this! (Sorry i left a company and had got my student from a 4 to a 6 st GCSE. A new tutor replaced me told him all about post it notes which wouldn’t help his learning style and next exam was back down a 3/4. )

Hi. I am a tutor with over ten years' experience. I teach English and French, both at any level but mainly secondary school to university. I have trained as a Montessori teacher, and am also an experienced theatre director. Language and literature are my passions, and I love teaching French too as I was brought up in France and am bilingual. I have been teaching mainly online since Covid struck and my students tend to stay with me for many years. I am currently based in Norfolk.

After finding it’s quite expensive to provide tutoring and to find a good tutor, we have built this site for the students and tutors to connect directly without any fees

tutorbook.co.uk/

Please feel free to post your tuition requests and offers there. Also help us sharing with your connections. Thanks
