Hi all,

Our daughter is in year 4 atm, she is one of the top students in her year. we are keen to prep her for the 11+ exam, targeting Wycombe abbey or St Paul girls (I know it is very hard to get in, but we still want to try). May I ask for your suggestions:

  1. What tutoring suggestion could you give us?
  2. I have seen some online resource like Atom Learning and Century. Have anyone used them, what is your perspective?
  3. do you have successful experiences or any lesson learnt?

Thanks very much in advance

Kindest regards
Morlaismum

Hi, we are currently using tutoring for our daughter for her (extremely competitive!) 11+ and private entrance exams.
We heard very mixed things about atom and those resources so we've steered clear and instead are working with a fantastic tutor now after a few hit and miss experiences.
My advice is to make sure the tutor you're working with has specifically worked on the private school entrance exams and not just general 11+ prep!!!! The exams are all quite different and vary school to school.
I know that a lot of people want to gatekeep when they find a good tutor, but we use an online company called Tayberry who specialise on the private and grammar entrance exams. Tutors like them are like gold dust.

Hi there! Atom Learning is absolutely fantastic. We have a tutor from a company called golden circle tutors and we managed to get an amazing discount to use Atom learning with them. They helped my children with their common entrance and both got into our chosen schools! Would 100% recommend checking them out :)

We only used Atom, plus all work set by the prep school, and started in the summer hols at the end of year four and DC got offers from St Paul's and Westminster, he also reads widely which helped.

That is great to know, your boy must be very smart. May I ask which prep school he went? Many thanks

@morlaismum his prep school is nothing great, certainly not considered a top prep. He is just disciplined and worked consistently.
