Hi, this has probably been answered already but does anyone have any recommendations for online teaching websites?

I'm a science teacher looking to go into online teaching but I'm struggling to choose a website / agency.

Thanks 😊

Depends what you want to do. If video is not important then Bramble is fast efficient and pretty stable and has a great flexible whiteboard and records all lessons.

Obviously if you need video link and want to show videos etc then there is Zoom, Teams and plenty more. They are all pretty similar in performance. However they all have their particular. operational quirks so I would tend to settle for one and become expert in using it.

Safeguarding online has its own challenges. Recording lessons can help with this in the event of a dispute. However where the data is stored security becomes a consideration as does GDPR. I think Bramble uses its own servers on shore. Not at all sure where the big players store data, could be anywhere in the world.

If you look around there are a lot of dedicated tutoring platforms. I am told some of these will provide some supporting resources. But frankly I like to use my own resources so I haven't explored these.

Regarding agencies, almost all the ones that are using the NTP or are servicing the SLTG will have an online option for teaching. Personally I have found Mannings, Fleet and Pet-Xi to be very professional. But I am sure that most are great to work for.

I hope this is useful.
