Hi,

I'm trying to find a tutor to help improve my sons maths and prepare him for the 11+ exams. Does anyone have any experience of using Cohort Tuition or Mytutor?

I can´t give you any advice on Cohort or MyTutor. However, I offer tuition in Maths (and Reading and Writing).

I have fourteen years experience teaching in primary schools, specialising in Years 5 and 6, and have been Maths Leader and Key Stage Two coordinator.

I don't know about cohort but we use my tutor. They provide uni students as tutors. My daughter does physics with one each week and she's very good. You need to manage your expectations though if you're using a tutor who isn't a qualified teacher.

I am a qualified teacher myself and tutor 11 plus. I'm full, so not touting for work or anything! I would personally not use anyone but a qualified primary teacher who has direct experience of the exact test your child will be sitting for 11 plus. They can never retake the test and it has a huge impact on their secondary school options.
