you are working on a confidential project. Your team manager walks up to you and tells you that he has few pointers regarding the project that might help you and asks you to tell him the details of the project so that he can cross verify. how would you respond to such requests from a person who is not directly involved in the project and what steps would you take to ensure the confidentiality of project remain tact?

Is it a test?

I've failed, I don't think I understand the question, what subject are you tutoring?

Just ask what the pointers are. It will soon be obvious if he knows what he's talking about or if he is fishing for info.

If you're really worried then go to the person who gave you the confidential project and ask them who else knows about it.

I would probably thank them for their kind offer but Xyz ( the person giving you the assignment) is keen that this is entirely your work, warts and all.
