Hello all

I thought this may be the best place to ask. I am in my final year of University and starting up a tutoring business. I would like some opinions. What would you be looking for in terms of a tutor for your child? What would you want in a tutor? Anything to avoid?

Thanks :)

I would personally be looking for a qualified teacher or someone who had a very good understanding of the national curriculum and how children learn.

What is your degree in?

I am an ex-teacher, now I tutor and also have my own school aged children. Depending on your degree I would consider you for A-level or possibly GCSE if you showed you knew the syllabus and exam requirements for different boards.
I would only consider qualified teachers for primary level.
As a credible business tutors will need DBS clearance and insurance.
Many don't of course but if you are youngish and just starting out it would be advisable.
