For those of you whose children have had an 11+ tutor, what did the tutor actually do during tuition time?Did he/she actually teach or did they let your child work through papers and then help when needed? Many thanks.

A decent tutor won't waste your (or your child's) time and money by sitting there watching them do a paper, waiting for 'something to come up'.

Best use of time would be to send you home with work to consolidate what's been taught in the session and / or papers to try so that the session can be usefully spent filling gaps and working on areas of weakness that can be usefully flagged up in this way.
