Trying to remember a true crime documentary about a flat murder

i watched a documentary quite a while back and would like to watch again but cannot remember title.
it was about a lone man who lived in a flat with the rest of the flats being empty due to renovations,
anyway it was Christmas he had been to friends for the day then went back to flat, people broke in and he was tied up in the bedroom the criminals did come back several times for money etc but they left him tied up. he was eventually missed he was something like a police mechanic and they found him but he died in hospital could be london

I’ve googled and I think you might be talking about Alan Holmes but the only recent thing I could find reference to was a podcast.

i do remember watching it there was him sat in the chair the flat was cold he had a hot water bottle. as he was watching tv he had these people burst in the flat
