what's the best dolls house you have found and why?
I am looking into getting one for my daughter she is only 2 1/2 but she is loving the my little pony castle with all its doors, windows and furniture. I'd love to get something lovely that can grow with her, something that she can keep and I can add bits to over time as and when she can be left with small parts etc.
any tips mumsnet mummys?

i just bought le toy van one for dd, strawberry cottage was on offer in john lewis. she is 7 now and its not too babyish, ds 4 also plays with it,its nice and sturdy.
I intend to replace furniture with more grown up stuff when she is a bit older. We also have the chad valley one, but it is a bit flimsy so i have put it away as more of an ornament.

We have the plain wodden one from Toys R Us which is excellent. I bought this one as it was teh only one I could find that isn't primarily pink - as it was for ds1 then about 2 and now ds2 and upcoming ds3. It comes with loads of furniture, is pretty cheap, and you can customise it, paint the doors etc. They play with it a lot (often to perk cars so doubles as a multi storey garage!)

If I had girls I might have been tempted to go for something more elabourate but this is a great basic/unisex/not expensive one www.toysrus.co.uk/Toys-R-Us/Toys/Dolls/Dolls-Houses-and-Accessories/Dolls-House-with-100-Pieces(0025 587)

ooh thanks, I don't really go into John Lewis much (it's so big and busy where I live) But I like the look of the pink one they do. mmm, lots to think about planning the furniture
