Bike advice needed for 6yo

Ds is having his first bike (to follow on from a balance bike) for his 6th birthday which is worryingly soon.

I am clueless, how do we measure for the size, does he need to go and sit on one?

What do people recommend arond the £50ish mark? Or do we need to spend more?

Just general help and advice, ie tell me what to buy, pretty, pretty, please

your best bet is to take him to a GOOD bike shop and let him sit on some and then you can see what size he will need. my tall 5 yr old has a 20inch frame, most kids of that age have a 16inch one.

i think you will prob need to spend more than £50 if you want to get a decent bike tho, sorry. or you can find out what size he needs and then look at your local free ads, kids bikes are always being sold on and you can get one second hand, we just did that for our ds2
