I want good quality, sturdy, big, tough trucks and buses that will stand up to a lot of playing inside and outside and in the sandpit etc.

I can only order online so can't have a good old touch and feel.

I need your recommendations.

For a 2 yr old boy.

What brands shall I look for?

Thank you.

Tonka, Little Tykes and some JCB (sturdier ones) are the only vehicles that have survived between my 2.8 year old and my three nephews.... we really only buy those brands now. They are very rough though.

Thank you. Have been investigating.

I am having trouble deciding at times what is sold as a wonderous collector's item, never to be unboxed, and what is intended to withstand the cruel and unusual attentions of my children.

If anyone can link to any specific winners I would be grateful.

We have this little Tikes car transporter

We also have some of the trucks and the excavator on the same site. (well, between my sister and I)

All are intact - we did have one car that had a small hole in it and it was replaced free of charge by little tikes.

My sister has a remote control flip over car from tonka for her 3 year old - it has had a serious amount of abuse and is still going strong. All of the boys love it.
