Brio train tracks compatible with Thomas?

It's my DS1's second birthday soon... we're thinking about a BRIO train set.
But before we shell out heaps, two pertinent questions:
Are BRIO train tracks compatible at all with the die-cast metal Thomas trains (made by Learning Curve I think)? Or do those trains only fit their own tracks?
And, where is BRIO made? My DH would like to get something "not made in China"...
Thanks!

Don't bother with Brio, buy Tesco etc as they are compatible and soooo much cheaper.

Ops, only just read the "not made in China".......

no, it won't fit with the die-cast thomas, only the wooden thomas stuff

MrsTittleMouse · 23/01/2010 19:53

All the wooden stuff is interchangable. We have a mix of Thomas, Brio, Tesco, Ikea and ELC and it all fits perfectly.

Sorry. too much wine........missed the metal die-cast bit...hic
