Magic Hair Fairytale Dora - does anyone have one?

Just got one for 3 yo dd from the church bazaar. Hair is all tangled and could probably do with a wash - has anyone tried washing the hair and does its magical properties still work?

Am tempted to have a go and wash it since it was so cheap but I suppose it would be a shame to break it. Has anyone tried washing?
