Why is some lego age 12+

Was thinking of getting DD the Christmas Toy Shop. She's 8. The bits don't look any smaller than other sets which are age 5-8.

it's the complexity of the instructions afaik

i've bought the xmas shop too - didn't know it had that age one it. she's 8 too

I would think it's to do with the complexity of the models and their instructions.

You'll probably have to help build it thats all!

stripey, that's what happens in our house, kids have to be quick before dh takes over helps

They put age limits on toys to make you buy more. Lego is the prime example - Baby Lego until age one, then quattro until age two, then duplo, and then lego divided into all different age categories.

If you think it looks suitable, ignore the age on it, and buy it.

Because you can make scenes of a sexual nature!
