Is there a digital camera between the chunky 3yrs+ ones and proper adult ones?

I'm looking for a digital camera that isn't too babyish but isn't posh and too fragile either.

What's out there for older children?

i have been wondering the same thing, my 6 year old wants a camera and i feel shes too old for the plastic chunky ones

OOOh, I was going to ask this, so I will keep an eye on this thread.
I was thinking something for my DD6 and DS7, the kids digital one is really babyish and I have seen some bad reviews on it, so wanted something up from that too.

I have no tips but was wondering the same. DS (6) would like one.

ok, so i'm not alone then

what about this?

We've got a Fuji Finepix camera.

Ds (2) has got hold of ours on numerous occasions and it's still going strong so I'd say they're definitely sturdy enough for an older child, depending on your budget.

Wasn't there an advert where children were chucking a digital camera (proper one) around? Can't remember the brand though!

I've recently got my 5 year old a technika one (Tesco) which is ideal for her. Ever so simple to use - although you do have to hold it very still for a couple of seconds to get the best shot.
The other one I was looking at was a vivitar.
I went cheaper, thinking if it did get dropped etc it could be easily replaced. But she does traet it well.

paisleyleaf · 01/11/2009 17:50

oh, and the technika doesn't need any software to get the pics up on the computer.

They do look good.
