I know they say from 1 year but if you got one what age did your DC start using it and what stage of development were they at ie do they need to be walking well before they get any enjoyment from this. Would you suggest any alternatives for a first birthday present/christmas (13months)

DD got one for her first birthday, before she could walk without support. She immediately dumped the little cart she'd used for walking and pushed the Wheelybug instead. They are really maneuverable so she wasn't forced to just walk in straight lines and stop when she arrived at an obstacle.

She loved being pushed/pulled on it from the beginning and as soon as her legs were long enough (at about 14 months, I think) she started riding it herself. She's a bit shorter than average BTW.

She's had loads of use out of it and still plays with it most days now. She'll be 2 next month.

It was the best first birthday present she got really.

That said, a little friend of hers has two () and has hardly used them at all...

Thanks Ninja. Am also a bit at having 2 - they're not the most inexpensive present but if they give years of fun then they seem worth it. Might take the plunge!
