Gravitrax

Can anyone tell me whether Gravitrax toys are any good? I’ve never seen one in action, only online of boxes in the shop. They are not cheap but I’m thinking my son would love it but I don’t want to spend all the money if the balls don’t actually stay on the trax or if it’s impossible to set up.

I’m reminded of all our hot wheels toys, all of which have been utter garbage and the cars don’t actually do what they do on the adverts!

It works but my kids weren’t that into it so it mostly sat on the shelf.

It’s great! Very high quality, endless combinations and honestly good fun for adults as well as kids 😄

Look for second-hand sets. I think it's quite common to be very enthusiastic initially but once packed away maybe forgotten about for a bit.

It is pretty good at what it does but young kids might have trouble setting it up, as needs a bit of either following instructions or playing with heights of stacks etc.

My kids found it overly complicated

Ours has been played with lots. They’ve had the most fun making up their own tracks or combining it with our marble runs.

It's a bit fiddly. We thought our kid would love it, it's right up his street but it's such a faff to put together and the tracks fall off all the time. Maybe we're just rubbish at it!

Thanks everyone. Mixed reviews though so I’m still a bit lost! Second hand is a good idea probably.

It takes a bit of concentration to set up. We began with a starter set and at first we’d have to set up the tracks for my son before he got the hang of it. He loves it and it’s great quality with good longevity, as you can add kits and more complexity as the child ages. Good for a kid who likes marble runs, building Lego sets, making train sets… that kind of thing

My son loves his. It’s the only toy he’s ever really played with as an older child. It depends on the age of your child- I think it’s probably more suited to 8+ (or maybe even older) than 6 due to the intricate pieces.
