Disney Waiting Room

Have I entered a parallel universe?
I want to order a Disney toy for a birthday gift and have been checking out toy shops and Disney Store. Just decided what to buy and gone onto Disney Store to order and I’ve had to join an online waiting room apparently “to make my experience a positive one”!
This is simply to access the website!
There are over 72000 people in front of me!!
The only other option I’ve found to buy this toy is via Amazon which I loathe; funnily enough I can purchase it from DS via Amazon.

What is this fresh hell?
Who has time to hang around waiting to get onto their website to actually spend money??

It’s nothing to do with giving you any sort of magical experience. It’s to manage numbers to the website so that it doesn’t crash.

I apologise for not believing you. I thought I would have a look myself and there are 797 301 customers ahead of me. I understand that it is to manage traffic so that the website doesn't crash but you would think that with all their millions they could increase the capacity of the website.

Oh apparently they’re launching some new range(never heard of it) (the event referred to on the waiting page) and I guess they expect a huge number of visitors and it probably creates a bit of hype as well. It should definitely be temporary.

Honestly don’t apologise, I didn’t believe myself and wouldn’t believe anyone else it’s absolute madness.

Trading cards are where the money is!!! Don't underestimate the spending power of grown men! See also why Lego sets are so bloody expensive (grown adults buying children's toys....)

This isn’t a normal occurrence (I order from Disney a lot), it’s because they’ve launched the cards as mentioned above.
